I Have Found Her, She's an Angel!

I found her!  I found her I found her I found her!!

This may not make as much sense to you as it does to me, so I won't keep you in suspense.  I found the cinnamon roll recipe that will change my life.  I adapted it from The Pioneer Woman's recipes here and here, and its AMAZING.

"her" that I found
With this cinnamon roll recipe, I can change the world.  Or at least, I can become that woman that I want to be.   And what woman is that, you ask?  I'll tell you.

When I was younger, I lived in the forest.  The road to the big city was long and winding, and along that winding road there was a house.  And down the driveway of that house, next to the road in a little wooden box, was baked goods.  See, the woman who lived in the house would make baked goods (cinnamon rolls, raisin bread, dinner buns, etc) in the early morning, and put them in her box out by the road.  The prices were marked on each item, and you put the money in the can and took your pastry of choice.   It was totally on the honor system.  And we didn't stop there all that often, but when we did, OH! it was glorious.

And now, with these cinnamon rolls, I can be her, except for being me.  Now all I need is a windy road and a house with a driveway that leads to a box for pastries and a can for $$.

While I'm waiting for those above things to materialize, I think I'll just keep eating these:

Because, really,...

Can you blame me??

Enjoying breaking the fast, (i.e.- breakfast),

  1. Mariah, I loved that box! I only purchased a couple of times, but I loved even the concept of the box!! Self serve fruit stands, yes, vegetable stands, yes, but baked good??!! When I moved here I thought that was amazing! I spent a lot of time teaching at the Sawmill, so I would ride past the box early in the day and be amazed that someone had been up and baking just so I could smile when I drove by. I want to live in a world again where it is safe to put your baked goods in a box by the road and where it is safe to eat the baked goods placed in a box by the side of the road. Thanks for bringing back that memory!

  2. @Rebecca
You know, I didn't even think about the safety of it! I do love that type of world :)
