Goosed by Fall

It's been glorious this week.

Don't misunderstand, I've thoroughly enjoyed summer.  Really, it was everything a summer should be.  And I was fully expecting it to continue.  I mean, we're in South Carolina, for goodness sake!  I expected summer to last right up unto the Autumnal Equinox.

But then, last week, I'm just walking along, going to classes, minding my own business, and *pinch!*  Fall goosed me right on the bee-hind.  I turned around and boom.  "Hi, I'm fall, can I hang around you for a while?".

See those brown leaves there at the bottom?
That's my scentifical proof.
Fall has been here.
CSI taught me everything I know.
Handsome & I took advantage of the weather to head up to the mountains and hike to a waterfall.

Turns out it was a repeat, so we tried a different hike.  We didn't end up finding a waterfall, but it was a nice day.  A glorious fall day, if you will.  The problem I'm having with it is that Summer is not going away without a fight.  Its gotten back up into the 80's these last two days.  And let me tell you, it's messing with my contentment level.  I strive to make my favorite season whichever season I'm currently in.  This limbo-thing we've got going on here is not helping.

Please give me assistance here.  Is it still summer?  Has fall moved in, or was he just checking out the place, deciding if the sofa he has will fit, or if he'll need a new one?

Personally, I think I'm leaning towards Fall,
TFW

p.s.- Check out the depth the 'stache is getting.  Because if I have to live with it, you do too.

  1. It'll be back. It does this pretty much every year.

Back in August when it was hovering around 100* I was telling the kids it was weird to think that in just a couple of weeks it'd feel like winter.
There have been years that I actually turned on the furnace on some nights in September, only to have turn the a/c back on a week or two later.
