Crafty Shout-out!

Yo peeps.

I need your help, yo.

I've got two problems (but my dog ain't one).

Well, I've got 3 problems if you consider how thug I'm feeling right now to be a problem.  I don't.

Problem 1:  I can't read this without tearing up

Kind of ruins my whole thug cred, doesn't it?

It was read over us on our wedding day, and it always makes me cry.  Especially now with the whole "laughter of children" thing.  *sob*

Problem 2: I need the above tear-jerker on my wall, in some format.  Canvas, paint, children's wooden blocks, whatever.  I just need to be able to see it every day.  But my creative juices aren't flowing.  So I need your help.  How would you do it?  How do you think I should do it?  If any of you have any idea, please share.

And get this: suppose someone gives me an awesome idea, and I do it, and I love it for ever and always.  Suppose that.  Then I'd probably have to send said person a present of some sort.  I'm just sayin'.  I'm a giver.

Off to do the ugly cry,

  1. i love love LOVE this type of look - I have been thinking about doing something similar in my own house but I dont know what to put on it!

I also think this kind of thing would be adorable to put above your bed since it was something you read at your wedding:

Good luck! be sure to post pics when you do it!

    1. Those are so cute! Thanks for the great ideas, I'll be sure to post pictures when I do it!

  3. I've had an idea I've wanted to do for ages, but with only 4 weeks to go before DD#3 makes her arrival...I don't think I'm up to it. So you can have it!! :)

At Staples, you can get a really really large print of a picture.. I think 20x25 for around $15-20. Pick a picture with some significance to you (maybe your wedding?) modpodge it on a giant canvas or piece of wood, then use vinyl letters to write out your quote.

I've also debated doing all of the above....then painting over the whole thing, and peeling off the letters. Then you "see" your picture through the letter shapes (I saw that one on Pinterest....but can't find the link now)

    Anywho, good luck!!

    1. Thanks! I love the whole peel the letters off thing, I think that looks awesome. I'll keep it in mind!

  4. love that poem...i dont know how i'd display it off hand, im kinda particular and would probably do it over and over again...but i love the words.. =)

    1. I know, don't those words just slay you?? I love it.

  5. Paint the words onto wood/canvas in the shape of a path, texture it, age it. Or, more work intense, overlay fabric on wood, cut out poem, so words show through.

    1. Ohh! I'm having a hard time picturing the wood/fabric/words combo, but it sounds impressive! Thanks for the ideas!
