Official Fall Dream List

Excuse me.  Excuse me please, I have an announcement to make.

{...} (<-- I don't know what that means, but for the remainder of our relationship, let's pretend it's a drum roll)

ASIDE: Usually at this point, if I told this to someone, I would have to preface my announcement with "... and no, I'm not pregnant."  Except now I am.  HA!  That probably doesn't crack anyone else up the way it does me.  Oh well.

I feel it is my duty to inform you that it is officially Fall.  Yep.  Autumn, if you'd rather call it that.  I know the month is August, which definitely felt like a Summer month, coming in.  Doesn't matter.  Two very important things have happened: classes have started, and I bought an apple-cider-scented candle.  I mean, really, who can argue with those facts?  They actually happened.  Can't fight that.

And both of those things (pie-themed seasonal candles and young-faced-18-year-olds-away-from-home-for-the-first-time-wandering-campus-and-making-bad-decisions) inarguably mean "Fall" to me.  I know that if I only had something concrete to show you, such as a delightful Honey Crisp Apple (I'm drooling here), you'd believe me for sure.

My love.

Note: It is only after reading the post I ripped this picture from that I realized
(1) The picture is from kitchendaily.com, wherever that is
(2) I could plant a honey crisp tree.  Or 9.

Let's call a truce, oh you who think that Fall doesn't start until the autumnal equinox.  Let's just agree to disagree (on everything but honey crisp apples [HCA's 4eva]).  And now that we've settled it, here's my list for things I dream of happening during this Fall season, however you wish to define said season.

  1. Burn more candles.  I love candles.  Scented candles of specific varieties.  I don't love them all equally, either.  I might love fall-scented candles the best.  Two days ago, I picked up an Apple-cider and Pumpkin pie.  Yum.  I want more, though.  Maybe like this or this or this or this 4E.  And, (sorry scentsy peeps) I love a REAL candle.  Not a tart.  Not a flameless scented piece of plastic.  Burning. That's how I roll.
  2. Eat 2 or more pounds of HCA's a week.  Preferably from my favorite fruit stand, as they're $0.99/lb as opposed to $2.99/lb.
  3. Make pies.  Lots of pies.  Caramel Apple Pie (oddly enough, made with Macintosh's, not HCA's).  Sweet potato pie (which I don't actually like but husband loves).  Peanut butter pie (not Fall-specific, but good any time).
  4. Go to the Autumn Leaf Festival in Clarion, PA.  It is a well-documented fact that I love this week best of all.  I've got plans to venture North around this time, and I can hardly stand the wait.
  5. Go apple picking.  (I'm picking up on a theme here...)
  6. Carve Pumpkins picked from a pumpkin field.
  7. Wear sweaters a lot.
  8. Get me a rad pair of boots.  I'm just having trouble (a) convincing Handsome that they're necessary, and (b) figuring out which ones to go with.  Any suggestions?
  9. Score some galoshes for those lovely dreary rainy fall days. *sigh*
  10. Watch as much NFL as humanly possible.  That is, as much as possible for a human who doesn't have cable.
  11. Get round and start waddling #baby
This list is clearly not comprehensive, as it stops at 11 and no good list stops at 11.  There is much more in store for me this Fall.  I'm terribly excited about pretty much all of it.  What about you?  Anything you're itching to do?  Any suggestions for my list?  I'll keep adding, don't think I won't.  I <3 Fall.

Burning the candles at both ends,
TFW

  2. What's your favorite fruit stand? I need one close by.

Also, I've never been in a corn maze. If that interests you at all, Steve is not at all interested in going with me, even though there's on in Anderson. So you're invited to come with me.

  4. Definitely fall here in my book too! Kids back to school = start of fall. Today I purchased a scarecrow from Joann's and put him out in my yard, along with some fall window clings on my front door and the picture window for the kids. Yep. Fall.

P.S. if you haven't tried them yet, Gold Canyon Candles are THE best! I sell them just for the discount because they are simply amazing!
