Okay, I promised you cute stuff today. And I always try really really hard to come through. And this time, I'm delivering. You ready for this? Like, really really ready? Here it is, what is probably my favorite gift for this baby so far. Maybe that's not nice to say. If you're offended, please pretend I didn't say it. But at the same time, you can't argue with how cute this is.
I know, right? It's all I can do to not try & put it on my own head. Of course, I have an unusually large head in the first place, and then there's the fact that the viking hat is made for a baby with a usually-sized head... it would likely end in tears. And by tears, I mean a badly-stretched-out crocheted viking hat. Which would totally ruin my plan.
Wanna know what my plan is? I'll tell ya...
I wanna put this hat on my baby, like, when it's a newborn and lying in the little nursery with all the other babies. They'll have cute little pink or blue caps, and mine will be a viking. I'm super pumped. I don't really even know if they still do the whole "babies in the nursery, look through the window, try & find yours" thing, but it's my plan.
Oh, it's a manly hat, you say? What if you have a girl, you say? Think I'm stumped? I'm not.
You take these two little braids, and with some creative threading...
We've got a lady viking hat. A hat fit for a vikingette, if you will! GAH, I can't handle the cuteness! I'm so excited to meet this little baby and put this hat on him or her! I swear he/she is trying to bust out, what with all the crazy kicking that's been going on today. Or perhaps it's the viking hat, and the baby is just as excited as I am. Here's a blurry little picture for you, of me with travel-worn hair, hanging out in my hotel room this afternoon. Because you deserve the very best ;)
